Q. How do I know if I am eligible to rent a car from YOYO Rentals?
A. If your age is 21 and above and you hold a valid Drivers License, you can rent a car from us.
Q. What is the easiest way to do a booking?
A. Easiest way is to book it online from our website’s booking portal; however, if you have any more questions or any specific requirement which is not listed online, you can email us at email@example.com or call us at 0800 9696 69.
Q. How can I pay for the booking?
A. You can pay us via secure online payment method using your Credit card or bank authorised Visa or Mastercard. We also accept China Union, American Express and EFTPOS .
Q. Do I need to carry my credit card at pick-up?
A. Yes, you need to present your card with your name on it when picking up the vehicle at YOYO Rentals office.
Q. I will be arriving at the Auckland Airport. How can I get the car I booked?
A. Please let us know the flight number and the timing of arrival in advance and we will arrange your transport from Airport to our office via YOYO Rentals Shuttle Service.
Q. I have an overseas Driver’s License. Is it acceptable?
A. We accept full overseas driver’s license and NZ License. Remember, you need to carry it with you all the time while driving and while picking up the car from our office. If your driver’s licence is not in English, then you need to get it translated. To obtain a certified translated copy you must seek:
– A translation service approved by the NZTA https://www.licencetranslation.co.nz/default.aspx
– A diplomatic representative at a high commission, embassy or consulate.
– The authority that issued your licence. Note: if your driver licence is not in English, an international driving permit (IDP) – issued in accordance with a United Nations Convention on Road Traffic – maybe acceptable as a translation.
Q. Do you offer Roadside Assistance?
A. All our booking prices include 24/7 Roadside assistance.
Q. What all is not covered in Roadside Assistance?
A. Driver related issues will not be covered and the driver will be asked to pay for the relevant charges by Automobile Association.
Q. Can I extend my car rental?
A. It cannot be guaranteed as the cars might have been booked in advance. If there is an availability of the car then it is at the sole discretion of YOYO Rentals if they can extend the booking period.
Q. Is there any other charge I might have to pay, other than the rental amount?
A. You may also be liable for any relevant additional charges for:
- dditional distance driven;
- Returning the vehicle later than the agreed time;
- Damage to or repair of the vehicle, and enforcement charges relating to this;
- Traffic fines, infringement fees, and any administration cost we have to pay in relation to this; or
- Toll charges.
Q. How do I pay for extra losses, if any?
A. At the start of the hire you must give us your credit card details. We may put a hold on your credit card up to the total value of the hire. If any loss occurs, we will charge the loss based on the actual costs to your credit card.
Q. Can someone else drive this car while I have rented it, other than me?
A. At the time of booking you need to let us know who will be driving the vehicle. All the drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Anyone who has not been declared as the driver CANNOT drive the vehicle during the hire period.
Q. Will I be charged, if I cancel the agreement?
A. You may cancel this agreement:
- a) A cancellation fee of 25% of the total hire will be incurred if the rental is cancelled within 24-72 hours prior to pick up;
- A fee of 50% of the total hire will be charged in the event of cancellation within 24 hours or if you fail to collect the car
- If you cancel your booking more than 72 hours prior to your pick-up time, then there is no charge.
Q. What should I do if the vehicle I am driving on hire had an accident during hire?
A. Regardless of who is at fault, if the vehicle is involved in an accident, is damaged, breaks down or needs repair or salvage, you must notify us at once. You must not arrange or carry out any repairs or salvage without our approval unless this is necessary to prevent further damage to the vehicle or other property.
Q. Can I drive on beaches?
A. You CANNOT drive on New Zealand beaches, gravel roads, dirt tracks or roads, and unformed roads as it will be a breach of contract and the vehicle will not be covered under insurance if the contract is breached.
Q. What if the vehicle is not clean at the time of return or has a smoke smell?
A. If the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition that requires extraordinary cleaning or deodorizing, the hirer is liable for the full cost of this cleaning or repair.
Q. What happens if I am late in returning the car?
A. An hourly rate of $20/hour will be charged for late returns.
Q. Can I Pick up or Drop off after business hours?
A. Yes, you can. It will incur after-hours fees as per the booking.
Q. Can I return the car before the due return date?
A. Yes, you can return the car before the due return date without refund.
